Warsaw Pact-
The creation of this pact was considered a response to the forming of NATO. NATO recruited West Germany, and with that, soviets warned that such a huge provoking action would force them to make new security arrangements in their own sphere of influence; this is when they formed the Warsaw Pact. On May 14, 1955. Countries in the pact were; Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, German Democratic Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. The pacts focus was to create a coordinated, organized, defense with other member nations protect from enemy attack. An example of the Warsaw Pact in use was when Soviet leaders found it necessary to enforce military action on Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968. They were referring to the Warsaw Pact.
