During WWII the United States and the Soviet Union worked together fighting against the axis powers. Their relationship was tense. At this time the leader of the Soviet Union was Joseph Stalin, he was a soviet communist and was thirsty for any land he could get his hands on. The tension started with the soviets resenting Americans refusal to treat the Soviets as a part of international community, and was unhappy with their delayed entrance into WWII, this late entry resulted in the loss of millions of Russians. After the war had ended this tension turned into mistrust and moved allies into enemies, with that, Americans had in mind the idea of separating themselves from communists. Soviet expansion after WWII scared many Americans to thinking that’s the Russians planned to control the world. But Soviets became frustrated when they realized the United States had been with-holding information on their Atomic bomb, and refused to share any information. With all this tension the United States and Soviet Union moved into a, COLD WAR- A state of political hostility existing between countries, characterized by threats, violent propoganda, and subversive activities.
With all this said, the two nations now turned to other countries trying to become friends, to have their assistance, and ally relationship and turn them against the enemy nation. They also take advantages of mistake their rival country makes to make themselves look better hoping to get support from more nations.
